The Golden Lion Cafe won a 2018 Top 10 Florida Beach Bar Award sponsored by LandShark Lager and they placed as the #1 Florida Beach Bar on the east coast! This is a fabulous bar and we've been looking forward to their award party since the competition ended.

For as long as we've been doing these parties, we've never had a party get interrupted by rain. Well, that streak of luck ended on June 16, 2018. As soon as the party started to kick off, the rain decided to say hello, but that didn't stop the Golden Lion faithfuls from having a great time.

The Highway One Band was in attendance and helped scare away the rain long enough to get the crowd dancing to their trop-rock sounds. This energetic band is no stranger to the Golden Lion Cafe and have played several Florida Beach Bar award parties in previous years. If you haven't seen them before, check out their facebook page for their calendar of events.

We were so excited to find out this year that the Golden Lion added a new sauce to their lineup. If you've been to this beach bar before, I'm sure you've had their Key Lime Tartar Sauce. Well now they have a new cocktail sauce called the "Datil Pepper Cocktail Sauce. It's absolutely delicious and it goes great with shrimp. Half of the profits from each sauce are donated to local food pantries. Even more reason to pick up a bottle!

To cap off the night, fireworks were fired off over the Golden Lion. The fireworks lit up the sky and it was a great way to end a terrific party night! This beach bar always puts on a great show for their award parties and these fireworks were a treat for everyone who braved the weather and stuck around to celebrate.
