Overview
You just have to love Sharky's on the Pier and based on the voting for the Top Florida Beach Bar, many people do too. Located right on Venice Beach Sharky's was selected a Top Florida Beach Bar in 2014-2016 and selected as the Best Florida Beach Bar in 2013 and 2018-2019.
Tiki huts provide the shade, and the tiki bar is action packed. Sadly, there are not too many bars in this area where you can eat, drink and be merry while on the sandy beach of the Gulf of Mexico. Sharky's must be visited by all looking for great Florida beach bars.
There is music 7 days of the week during peak season and 5 nights during off-peak season at Sharky's. Often they have some kind of other event that provides entertainment. There is a 2 story deck that allows you to look down on the tiki bar and out onto the Gulf and fishing pier.
The sunsets at this Florida beach bar are amazing. Walking the pier one night we heard the tale of an 8 foot Bull Shark being caught the day before off the pier. That story alone will make you want to go get a drink at this Florida beach bar.
The band was playing Bob Marley's Three LIttle Birds. We were sitting in the bar and sipping gin and tonics while watching couples dance. What a great night!! You can hear live bands every evening.
Did you know that Venice Beach is the shark tooth capital of the world??? When you are not eating, drinking, dancing and laughing, you can be wandering the beach in search of shark's teeth. But beware of swimming too far out in the Gulf......there is a reason Sharky's got it's name. Sharky's is a Florida beach bar landmark.
In December of 2013, Sharky's opened Fins, a new upscale beach restaurant. The original Sharky's beach bar and lower level restaurant remains offering a true Florida beach bar experience. Upstairs Fins features a sushi bar, breathtaking panoramic views of the pier and Gulf, and a dining experience to match.
