When they built the Ritz Carlton Members Beach Club they were going to tear down the only tiki bar on the beach in Sarasota. The public fought for it, and now The Lido Key Tiki Bar is located directly on the beach behind The Ritz-Carlton Members Beach Club. A Sarasota landmark, the rustic, open-air tropical Florida beach bar features beer, wine and mixed drinks at the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. Many people remember it as the tiki bar at Azure Tides. If you thought it was gone, think again!
There is live music on the weekends. The drinks are strong but good. The bartenders are Pete and George, and they are friendly and engaging. The crowd comes up off the beach or from the Ritz's beach club. You are almost guaranteed a great time with friendly groups of people, great food (which comes from the Ritz) and fabulous drinks. There is no parking lot available so you have to park out on Ben Franklin Drive and walk a bit. Be prepared for that both coming and going!!
There is even a fire pit on the beach for winter sunsets and gatherings. Tables out in the sand are located under tiki huts. You will love it!!
