AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar is the crown jewel of HarborWalk in Destin Florida. You can easily spot this Florida beach bar as you head east along the harbor walkway. Once you see this beach bar’s giant tiki hut, you know you need to stop here for a bite and a drink.
AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar bills themselves as ”the happiest bar on the docks” with happy hour Monday thru Friday from a 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. That includes daily drink specials and an Oyster Happy Hour for raw oysters.
A.J. Seafood has grown up over the years. At one time they were a little spot on the docks where oysters were shucked and they were the freshest you could eat. Now it is a triple decker bar with its own nightclub and Tiki Village.
The Inside of AJ's reminds you of an old fishing village. There are a lot of fishing relics to look at, and a wide variety of buoys hanging from the rafters. Since Destin is known as the "world's luckiest fishing village", you will also see many fishing boats and fishermen working around the harbor and enjoying the local bars and entertainment. If you like, there are even fishing tournaments to just check out or in which to participate. This Florida beach bar is also home of the Destin Fishing Rodeo and founder of the Emerald Coast Poker Run. If you are a fisherman or a boater, you might want to check into either or both of these events.
The best part of this Florida beach bar is the "tiki village”, the perfect place to enjoy it all. Pull up a chair, order a tropical drink and watch the boats come and go in the harbor. There is steel drum music and tropical birds to add to the tiki bar entertainment. When the day draws to an end, catch the sunset, and then head over to their Club Bimini. Club Bimini is located at the top of the tiki hut and is decorated with old fishing gear. The hanging lights over the bar are old bait buckets. Clever.
Now, we are all about Florida beach bars, but AJ's has Club Bimini, which is this beach bar's nightclub and sister bar. Club Bimini features a live band each and every night. That’s a ton of live music! We do like a waterfront view, but we also love live music.
